Renaissance are delighted to announce a brand new album series – 'Frontiers', a 2CD compilation that pits two DJs head to head with a unique, geographical twist with both heralding from different countries. The concept breathes a welcome air of originality into the compilation market, providing the perfect platform to showcase DJs, artists, countries and the ever-expanding global world of dance music, with the first volume in the series fronted by the UK's own Yousef and acclaimed US DJ Behrouz.

With Yousef compared to such greats as Derrick Carter and Sneak, and San Francisco based Behrouz earning praise from the likes of Danny Tenaglia and Deep Dish, this new compilation has all the hallmarks of another winner for the Renaissance brand.

"We have worked with a number of established DJs over the years. 'Frontiers' will be our platform for artistes who, although a little too experienced to be classed as nu-skool, are still freash and exciting; driving their respective genre in their own domestic scene forward and knocking down the door of the A-list." - Geoff Oakes (Renaissance MD)

Yousef of course has become somewhat of an ambassador since his breakthrough in the late nineties via the now defunct Muzik magazine. With a DJ style that draws in jacking influences with an element of funk that totally rocks the dancefloor, Yousef has found himself compared to the likes of Derrick Carter and Sneak, and as a producer has also proven his worth with tracks and remixes under such aliases as Drum Bums, Harry Munroe and 10,000 BC in addition to his own name. Currently working on an artist album which includes collaborations with such luminaries as Paul Woolford and Nic Fanciulli (featured on this album), and continuning to develop his successful club brand Circus, Yousef is a DJ right at the forefront of the scene, and this new mix looks set to take him to the next level.

Behrouz by contrast, provides the perfect musical foil. A master of all things deep and hypnotic, his djing and production work is held in high regard amongst his US peers, most notably Danny Tenaglia and Deep Dish, the latter of which he has a deep affirmation with thanks to a string of high profile remixes for their Yoshitoshi imprint. In addition to this, he holds down residencies at Ruby Skye in San Francisco and the excellent Red Light club in Paris, and is well on his way to being the next major player on the international dance circuit, a journey that will only be aided by his stellar work here on 'Frontiers'.

'Frontiers' is another exciting new series to come from the long standing Renaissance brand. With 2005 having already seen projects from DJs as varied as Dave Seaman, James Zabiela, Hernan Cattaneo, David Morales and Anthony Pappa, it looks like the transatlantic dynamic and growth of the brand is at its healthiest ever, and one can only imagine what new 'Frontiers' lay ahead in the future.
