Mitrinique "Green Mountains EP"

Out Now on Sound Avenue

The Belgian label Sound Avenue has gone from strength to strength with each successive release. Deepfunk, Andy Arias, Luis Bondio, Martin Garcia dPen and many other others have all turned in their finest work for the label in recent months and thus the Sound Avenue imprint has quickly become a high standard in electronic music quality. With their 7th overall release and 2nd of 2012 upon us the red hot label has embarked on their biggest project yet. The label bosses Mitrinique are back in the spotlight with their 'Green Mountains' EP which comes with an outstanding selection of remixes from: Petar Dundov, Eelke Kleijn, Facundo Mohrr and Doppler Musikk.
Mitrinique's 'Green Mountains' original leads the package off and it is certainly the Belgian duos most accomplished composition to date. A punchy, subterranean sounding groove roots the piece and the scattered intricacies at the outset give the composition an immense sense of space straight away. The foreboding almost mesmerizing atmosphere is intoxicating as it slowly builds up around the tracks framework. You can feel the momentous pulse growing as soft trails of trippy electronics provide an electric sounding sonic backdrop. This subtlety charged atmosphere carries the composition through the ultimate stretch of swirling effects and trippy soundscapes for an exhilarating finish to the record.

The first interpretation of 'Green Mountains' is provided by the much revered Croatian producer Petar Dundov. Petar makes intelligent electronic music that breaks boundaries, moves feet and twists minds. He is without a doubt one of the most inspiring, original and daring producers in electronica, and with the likes of Sven Vath, Laurent Garnier, John Digweed, Hernan Cattaeno and Guy J singing his praises it would be hard to disagree. Petar follows his outstanding 'Stairway' single for Musicman with what has turned out to be one of his most sought after remixes. Already played by John Digweed and Guy J Petar's 'Green Mountains' interpretation stays true to Mitrinique's excellent original theme but comes with his much loved, trademark hypnotic qualities. Petar has also provided a funkier bottom end with one of those amazing dance floor friendly rolls that just locks the groove in even tighter. Do not miss this!

The second and final 'Green Mountains' remix comes from Buenos Aires based producer Facundo Mohrr who would have to be one of the hardest working DJs out of Argentina at the moment. His 'Fallout' radio show on Frisky remains one of the stations most listened to and his productions for Sudbeat, Tronic, Stripped and Mirabilis over the last year have been spectacular. Facundo's 'Green Mountains' interpretation brings a decidedly more techy vibe to the piece. A romping big room groove that's complemented with futuristic stabs and fresh sounding synths brings an energetic vibe that's an excellent complement to Mitrinique's more refined original.

The first interpretation of 'Saturday' comes from one of Holland's biggest DJs and most talented producers Eelke Kleijn. Eelke's mix has been #1 in our Hype Chart for several weeks and with its combination of dancing, hypnotic keys and a momentous, rolling groove it's not hard to see why. An utterly infectious dance floor construction from Eelke with massive hypnotic swing and an eerily melancholic vibe that just keeps you coming back for more. Fabulous stuff from Eelke.

The second and final remix of Saturday comes from the Buenos Aires based production duo Doppler Muzikk who makes not only their Sound Avenue debut here but also their overall production debut as well. The duo is best known for an unofficial remix of Vance Musgrove's classic 'Lid's Off' which was charted by Hernan Cattaneo almost 2 years ago. It's astonishing really that their remix here will be their first ever released production as it has the polish of a seasoned studio veteran. Doppler's 'Saturday' interpretation comes with a tough but remarkably atmospheric vibe that's full of trippy effects and intricate sounding electronics. The beat patterns are also extremely captivating and should keep the attention level on your dance floor quite high. An excellent remix from Doppler Musikk and we look forward to hearing much more from this duo in 2012. Without question Mitrinique's 'Green Mountains' EP is one of the best packages to come out this year and it further establishes Sound Avenue as one of the top electronic music imprints around at the moment.
