A Matsumoto & DJ Yoshi "Dreamer"

Out Now on Precinct Recordings

The second release on Precinct Recordings comes from acclaimed Japanese producer and composer Akihiko Matsumoto and his occasional collaborator DJ Yoshi. 'Dreamer' was originally released on Womb Recordings several months ago, but Luke Chable's mix was actually overlooked due to the difficulty of finding a copy of the original record, so to see it here is great news for all those Chable fans, and with a brand new remix by those Border Commies The MFA, then this has the potential to fly off the shelves.

The MFA's remix is a tripped out and quirky affair, a wicked acid bassline rolling through the centre of the track, creating an addictive and fun filled groove where electronic rhythms, synths and melodies are all brought together to form one cohesive nucleus. The floaty vocal hook rises up as this pair of geniuses cut the mix up on the fly, finishing off with a vintage electronic solo delivered in their own mf'ing superb style that indicates exactly why these two rascals are currently making waves.

'Luke Chable' brings his trademark big room sound to the dance, and turns in a driving and epic interpretation, where rolling melodies and a rapid fire tempo help to build a pounding groove from the start. Each section is filled with uplifting pads and vocal effects, with a big drop into a euphoric breakdown early creating a warm and dreamy void that engulfs the rest of the track and ends on an emotive night that would work just right at the end of the night, and is another accomplished mix by one of the most prolific producers around at the moment.

Precinct once again deliver the goods, with two solid and diverse mixes that most DJs will be able to find use for. With a forthcoming cast that includes people such as Kosmas Epsilon, and a two tracker from the MFA themselves, this is a label to be watched carefully.
