Out Now on Spectrum Recordings

Spectrum Recordings is a new techno and house upstart based in the UK and with a focus on showcasing the output of not only the best established artists but also a more primary aim of introducing some of the new and exciting producers that are currently emerging from expanding scenes and countries throughout the globe. With that in mind, for its second release, the imprint heads to Brazil once more, where Andre Sobota presents his debut single 'Self Constructive'

Taking us on an excursion through the realm of deep tech, Andre's original is built around a heavy bassline that pulsates deep at the nucleus of the track but it's the big melodic lead and effected pads that really make the track stand out. The first time the lead shimmers in, is in itself a special moment, but it's the peak later in the track where the magnificence of this track is realised.

Alan Fitzpatrick is tasked with taking the original and reinventing it, which he does with relative ease. Stripping things back, the remix starts off with a groove led arrangement, pinned down by looped beats and effects. The lead is gently teased in but not realised until much later in the mix, by which time the energy that has been captured is unleashed with devastating effect.

All in all, an impressive debut single from the young up and coming Brazilian, complimented by another great dance floor minded remix by Alan Fitzpatrick. After the success of the label's first release by Gui Boratto & Anderson Noise and with upcoming releases set to feature none other than Joel Mull, Spectrum is a label that looks set to make its presence known very quickly.
