Bakony Scamp "Dangerous Inside EP (Part Two)"
Out Now on Sumsonic RecordingsThe second half of the new 'Dangerous Inside EP' from Bakony Scamp proves to be another gem, with three choice tunes providing something for everyone, including the likes of Jimmy Van M. 'Deep Funk Fusion' is a thick chunky tech house number, while 'It's All About Jazz' pays homage to the jazz greats with cool organ sounds and spoken words. Lastly, the mellow sounds of 'Ivett' close this EP down and leaves you with a warm but melancholy feeling.
'Deep Funk Fusion' combines tech house and progressive in a slick but chunky number. A techy break beat starts in and a driving rolling bassline fills the bottom end, while sparkling bubbly synths float above. Once it all drops off into a break, the kick drum sets in taking the tune through various chord stabs and high pitched old school synths. The drums keep moving and slicing, while a wicked rough sound penetrates through everything. Finally, a deep groove comes in and drops in and out of chugging moments and breaks, and then comes back in with full on power till the end.
'It's All About Jazz' is a sweet and sassy acidy tune that was heavily played by Jimmy Van M during the summer. A bouncy drum kit shuffles in with a spoken word vocal about jazz music. Light synths creep in from the depth and start grooving with the housey bassline and slappy drum hits. Acid gets in there and hides deep into the chords and beats, and then drops everything into a break. More spoken words work in there and lovely organ-type water drops fall in place. The acid starts to build again getting really dirty with fuzz and then kicks back in to groove.
The last tune to close the 'Dangerous Inside EP' is a chillout tune with cool robotic vocals and dreamy melancholy synths. 'Ivett' soars with symphonic tones and real slight drums. Robotic vocals carry the tune into a sweet watery arpeggiated rhythm that hides in the background and warms up for some piano work and guitar bits. This is a mellow tune with the right amount of feeling and warmth for any moment.
Bakony Scamp has turned out some great music for Sumsonic. The 'Dangerous Inside EP' showcases his variation within music, but also his brilliant production. He will return with some new music with collaborations with Darko and Paul Rogers, as well as his own album project under his moniker Easy Life Natural.
