Beaumont "Tiburon Court"

Out Now on Winds West Recordings

Do you like your progressive to be dark and trippy, but still enjoy melodies which stand out above everything else? Or do you prefer the more throbbing, twisted, and techy style? Either way, you're going to love this release from Beaumont, with an insane remix provided by someone who just can't seem to go wrong lately, Habersham.

The bass runs heavy in the Original Mix, setting up a very dark, pulsating atmosphere. To even this out, we are provided with the melody lines up in the high levels in the composition, and some mid ranged effects to contrast, making sure that one range does not overpower the others. This ingenious approach to the construction pays off, with the result being a dark progressive monster which at the same time possesses a very refreshing feel to it. Definitely not something you would come across every day.

Habersham's "Mad Haberish" interpretation is just that. Mad. And in a very excellent way indeed. Taking a 4/4 route with the track, the percussion comes across with a broken feeling, as though slightly out of time, but intended to be this way. It helps give the "mad" effect. The melody lines have been ripped up and sprinkled throughout the composure, and these work together with the many trippy effects thrown in to create a crazy atmosphere.

With two very contrasting sides, this marks a very strong release for Winds West Recordings. The original mix really showcases Beaumont's diversity, and this is what I love to see; tracks which aren't scared to try something a little different. As for Habersham's remix, it just seems as if nothing can stop this producer. His name has become synonymous with quality, and his remix presented here backs this statement up excellently.
