Out Now on Tao Recordingsthe balance between spirit and sound-Tao Records
The first release on the new Tao Recordings is from a Canadian based ambient music act Blue Tonic World. After riding Mp3.com’s ambient chart for over a year, Tao Recordings releases “A Wonderous Night” as two slamming remixes by DJ / producer Martin Villeneuve (MV). Early support comes from the likes of Saeed & Palash, Behrouz, Spesh, Chris Fortier and Chab.
On the A side, MV’s Main Mix introduces Tao to the world with tough love. A strong beat and driving rhythm in MV’s signature fashion come straight at you right from the start. Female vocoded vocal snippets pepper the audioscape amidst swirling textures. MV gradually layers samples and punches up the intensity to culminate into a passionate string laden breakdown.
The B side is MV’s Tribal Fusion Mix and of course is riddled with the sounds of tribal mayhem. The electrified bass line pulses under the vocal samples and while the ambience builds this track up. The track is constantly being pushed harder and harder to a soft peak and then carries you away with minimal tribal rhythms.
“A Wonderous Night” is great first showing for the young Tao Recordings. Expect a lot of great things from them including Soul Tan & Tone Depth’s “Back To You” compelte with a breaks mix from Martin.
Tao Recordings Press Release
Tao Recordings is the brainchild of accomplished DJ / producer Martin Villeneuve whose releases for Yoshitoshi / Shinichi as Envy have rocked dance floors worldwide as well as receiving incredible exposure on the Global Underground series via Deep Dish's legendary Moscow compilation. His releases on Addictive and SAW under his MV moniker have also reached critical acclaim receiving placements on multiple compilations from the likes of Anthony Pappa, Creamer and K and Ralphie Rosario.
Tao recordings will serve as an outlet for MV's artistic & creative vision. Tao encompasses forward thinking music without the predictability of falling into any one sub category. New fresh talent will be introduced and road tested producers will make surprise appearances. May it be breaks, pumping tribal or forward moving house music, you can always expect quality but most of all a balance between sound and spirit.
