Brahma "Bringing The Dawn"
Out Now on Sentient Audio CollectiveBrahma is a duo consisting of Michael Lanning and Chris Conner, who together also formed the Sentient Audio Collective. The Original Mix is a very impressive tune in its own right, and with the unstoppable Micah brought in to provide two mixes, this is one release that you would be unwise in passing up.
The Original Mix is a smooth flowing breakbeat number, with complex melodies winding around each other, and many hypnotic effects running along with them. A deep and pulsing bassline provides a solid foundation for all of this, and if this were to be dropped late at night after a hypnotic groove had already been set up, this would unleash some havoc!
Micah most certainly needs no introduction, and his first mix here, the "Morning Glory" mix is the more peak time of the two. A steady 4/4 time is set up, and the melodies from the original have been tweaked and refined, and coupled together with an updated bassline. The atmosphere created from the mix is intense, and is sure to be welcomed warmly by dancefloors across the globe.
The "Oldskool" Mix keeps on a similar note to the "Morning Glory" Mix, but strips things back a little. The melodies don't come right out and smack you in the face, and the groove is a lot subtler. An excellent mix in its own right, and both this and its counterpart would work magnificently in different situations.
This is more certainly one of the hottest works to come from the Brahma outfit, and with Micah's genius brought in to provide the mixes, this is a true pearl to add to the Sentient Audio Collective discography. A tune you will certainly be hearing a lot of over the coming weeks, if you haven't already!
