Bruce Aisher Presents G-Stylz "Transient Collaborator EP"

Out Now on Renaissance Digital

Bruce Aisher, best known for his work as part of duo Brancaccio & Aisher, appears on the Renaissance label here under the alias G-Stylz, also known as Gutterstylz. Both tracks on this release have been given the seal of approval by John Digweed who featured them on his recent Transitions Vol. 2 compilation. Renaissance has been releasing a steady stream of excellent tracks including Seal Clubbing, Lucky Heather, and the phenomenal Crop Duster. This release, entitled the 'Transient Collaborator EP', is no exception.

The main event on this release is 'Can't Get Enough', a monstrous dancefloor heavyweight that fuses elements of tech and progressive house styles into one addictive track. I first heard a portion of this track on a Renaissance video podcast featuring a John Digweed interview and was immediately hooked. As soon as I was able to get a full copy of the track I simply couldn't stop listening to it, it really is that good. Things get started with a solid drum pattern laying the foundation as the massive synth leads make their way into the mix with the addition of a few vocal effects. Nearly a minute and a half in the kick drum comes into play and the track takes off into full flight. The lead synth occupies the low end while a second synth creates atmosphere on the high end. There is great use of stabs and effects throughout, in addition to a small but catchy vocal sample of the tracks title, that complement the big room feel of this monster track. Everything just sounds very tight and well produced. I'm not sure I can say enough good things about this track, as it simply is one of the best things I've heard in a while. It's a real shame that it wasn't featured more prominently on Transitions Vol. 2, as it's unfortunately used as a transition track there.

The second track is 'Belong To Me', a funkier and more basic house track that keeps things relatively simple. It's unfortunately very underwhelming in comparison to Can't Get Enough, and comes off as a filler track for the release, however I wouldn't consider it a deal breaker. The track's focus is a funky bass line which is accompanied by vocal samples and a lead synth line that drops in every so often to change things up a bit. There isn't a whole lot else to be said about this pretty basic track.

Taking into account the simplicity of Belong To Me, this is still a stellar release featuring one of the strongest tracks I've heard thus far this year in Can't Get Enough. This tech meets progressive house stomper is the kind of track you begin to anticipate hearing in a club environment from the first time you hear it. Renaissance does it again with another great release on par with Crop Duster in my opinion, and lets hope there's more where that came from.
