Delilah "Be Strong For Me (Remixes)"

Out Now on Yoshitoshi Recordings

Chris Brann is a talented producer. Creating nice atmospheres, as well as some very lush smooth house, he’s definitely created a niche for himself. This tune first showed up a few years back, and gets a little update by the fabulous Miguel Migs and Envy. This is a class package and will appeal to a vast group of people.

Envy’s 'Deviation Dub’ starts in with a mellow opening. There’s claps, and sounds washing all over. The space is nicely used. The kick starts in. A clap follows. It’s deep and here comes the dark stab of sound. Very low, and deep, and we move into the vocals. They are gated, and just super soft. The rolly snyth line comes in, and we fall into the break. It’s very trippy, and very desolate, and really leaves a lot of mixing room. A very nice mix.

Envy’s 'Deviation Main Mix' starts up with a nice solid kick drum. Moving on with some drums he brings in a nice high hat, and a really deep clap. Dark stabs come in, and bring us to her voice. She seems a bit darker, lower, and deeper. We stop up for a second, and are introduced a new synth line. It is rolly and moves through the sounds nicely. We never take a break from her, and she takes us out to the end. A nice evil sounding vocal tune.

The ‘Miguel Migs Dubpusher Dub' sounds very similar to his remix, with just a bit less of the vocal and a lot more use of trumpets. There’s a few more breaks to slow things up a bit. But all the rest of the track is the same. A dub with a possibility for much varied use.

His remix comes in with a great set of drums. Claps and nice layers keep things interesting, as watery sounds come in. The trickle over the drums, moving in and out effortlessly. There’s a light disco feeling to this remix, and a funky trumpet starts in. A nice bassline comes in as the song really picks up and starts moving. Then the voice slides in, all airy and powerful. The focrus is kept on this as it intertwines perfectly with the sounds. An acid line comes in, and changes the tempo as we reach the end.

This is a great remix package. Pick this up as soon as you can. Another stand out release from the Yoshitoshi camp.
