Echomen "Perpetual"
Out Now on SAW Recordings‘The Truth’ on Hooj Choons mid last year was the last Echomen release. I gave it a 9/10 and the rest of the world agreed with me that it was an excellent production. Chris Scott and Anton Fielding, once again under the Echomen name, are set to release their next single, “Perpetual” on SAW Recordings. It Follows SAW’s last huge release by Gabriel and Dresden, “Lament” and will continue in the label’s direction of releasing the best quality tracks.
“Perpetual” has maintained top spots on charts around the world and has even hot the hot number one spot on some including Hernan Cattaneo’s December chart on Resident Advisor. This single on SAW is complete with a vocal mix, a dub and even an accapella (Echopella) to fully support and enhance any DJ set.
Like any Echomen production, “Perpetual” is full of depth and maintains a great balance between sounds. It has a lively bass line, sparkling melody, and a collection of tight dubby percussion. The programming and production are superb. On the vocal mix, the Echomen treat us with smooth vocals from the “Truth” vocalist Cheb Stewart. If the vocals don’t quite match your set however, the “Retro Future Dub” was included just for you. And further, you can sprinkle in a bit of the “Echopella” in amounts that suit you. This is a quality piece of work delivering a smooth melodic excursion. Check it.
Chris Scott can also be heard producing under Phunk Theory or Lexicon Avenue (set to release “Why R U Here” on SAW in February) guises and Anton Fielding also produces as one half of Solaris Heights. Next up on SAW is the hugely anticipated single by Chris Fortier, “Losing Wait.”
