Elegant Universe Vs Plastic Pimps "Music EP"

Out Now on Method Records

Method Records has always prided itself on scouring the world and uncovering some of the up and coming talent that each country has to offer. Over the years, the label has played host to the debut of Andy Moor, and artists such as Peter Martin and Central Rush. Over the years, this ideology hasn't changed as the latest release comes from newcomers Elegant Universe.

'Music (Smoked To The Bone)' is a collaborative venture with Plastic Pimps, a deep, subliminal electronic house track that has a great 80's style mood and vocal lead. Perhaps influenced by such greats as Depeche Mode and New Order, Elegant Universe lay down a steady bass groove, with melodies and synths rising smoothly up through the centre of the track. All in all, a great little mid-set track that is more than deserving of a place in the record box.

'Funtastik' continues the 80s theme, a heavy rolling bassline (again somewhat in the style of Depeche Mode) taking the lead quickly. The loose arrangement of the track and the wild snares add much to the "fun" mood of the track, and if you're a fan of Mashtronic, Phatjak or Bart Van Wissen, then you're likely to love this track.

Hot on the heels of their debut on Vapour Recordings, Elegant Universe step up the plate and overshadow that release by a mile with one of the best dancefloor-centric releases on Method Records to date, and is one of those records that will have people coming up to the DJ booth wanting to find out what it is.
