Envy "The Faith EP"

Out Now on Shinichi Recordings

Envy is back with another beautiful piece of music. From lush vocoded vocals, to lovely strings, to a deep and dark groove thanks to BC, this Ep has tons of great music for everyone.

The 'Original Mix' of Everytime starts in with a nice slow intro build. Toms, hand drums, and then a nice kick follow. The bassline starts in. It’s bubbly and has bouncing atmospheres. A vocoded voice layers inside the sounds. Heading into just a thick kick drum and washed up sounds, his voice twists with the lush symphonic sounds. Strings follow in from the break, and takes the tune into a very deep an emotional build.

'BC’s Darktime Remix', on the other hand, is just that. A dark take on an emotional tune. The kick starts us off, and we head into a pumping bassline. Twisted sounds follow, as the drums start to build. The vocoded voice comes in just for a few moments. Shuffling sounds and loads of drum changes make this a great mix. An acid tone floats and moves aggressively throughout the song. Orchestral stabs come in and spit us out into a crazy pumping breakdown that sounds as if its been flushed. The voice starts in, and every sound comes crashing in harder then before. This is made to rock a dancefloor, and to get people moving.

The other disc contains the other track on the EP, Faith. The 'Original Jericho Mix' opens with shuffling drums. Little high sounds come in, and carry us into quick stabs, and deep bass. There’s a lot of tone in the background, easing its’ way up to a lazer sound build up. We shoot off, coming back into some muffled sounds, as the song starts to build up again. This is a very bouncy tune.

MV's 'Moody Mix' of Faith is a deep dark take on the original. He keeps the synth lines, and the drum sounds, but takes it deeper. A kick starts us off, with swirling sounds in the background. Claps come over top, as does a simple voice snippet. Airy sounds take the song over, as it starts to build up. Low stabs keep the momentum. There’s a good groove to this one.

Shinichi always seem to pull out nice deep and dark vibes, and this continues in that fashion. A nice release from Envy.
