Fine Taste "More Grey Than Blue / Midnight Clash"

Out Now on Little Mountain Recordings

Dutch boys Freek Geuze and Johan Vermeulen strike down on Sander Kleinenberg's Little Mountain Recordings. Whilst the label is known to be immensely popular across the globe, I have always found their releases very hit and miss. When they hit, they hit hard, and when they miss, they can sometimes be pretty far off the mark! So how does this outing fare up?

Right from the outset I could tell these tracks were going to have a big room sound. 'More Grey Than Blue' had me as soon as its sexy bassline came out. This is one of those tracks which is sure to fill floors no matter where it is played, and has the potential to make even the most stationary of people want to move! Whilst there may be many other similar tracks out there with similar qualities to boot, something about the way this track progressed made me take a strong liking to it!

Don't start kicking back just yet though, 'Midnight Clash' is out to keep you going. It has a much dirtier thing going on than its flipside. I found it to get a little repetitive after a while, but in the right setting that is only a minor issue, as it succeeds in creating that dirty big room sound it sets out to do. Not as strong as 'More Grey Than Blue', but serves as a great side dish.

I was more than impressed by this release on LMR. Whilst there was nothing immediately new or groundbreaking about the tracks, they have a great dancefloor vibe to them and are sure to be enjoyed by clubbers across the globe. If big room sounds are what you are after, then don't pass this one up.
