Francesco Pico & Roell Sapphire "The Thrill Will Be Later EP"
Out Now on Outside The Box MusicThe latest release from Eelke Kleijn’s fantastic Outside The Box label comes from two talented young men from the Netherlands. Francisco Pico and Roell Sapphire have each forged their own careers with releases on a bevy of labels such as Global Underground, Extrema and Armada as well as numerous others. For this release, they team up to bring us ‘The Thrill Will Be Later’, a delightful progressive tune that hit high notes with Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren.
The titular tune starts in with a good kick and wonderful shuffled percussion. A cute arpeggiated hook finds its way leading the track through a dreamy atmosphere with sweeps and air sounds that fly around hooking you in. The build seems to take forever and finally at around four minutes it breaks and a massive bassline emerges, sliding its way into the beats and it all comes crashing back in. The groove that settles is a quality progressive rich bassline with movement that sounds similar to progressive breaks.
‘Browser’ is a much funkier tune. The tech house bounce is in full force with kicks made for bumpy rooms and high hats and clever noises to keep your ears filled. The steady and simple groove holds steady with an accompanying fat bassline. Atmospheric sounds play in the background while a hook arrives playing along to the drums and keeping things going moving through cool breaks and effects. This is one spacey gem of a builder and I highly recommend it.
This is a great twentieth release for Outside The box. Francisco and Roell have really got a good sounding going and I hope they collaborate again in the future. Also available as part of the package is an intro tool and a break tool.
