Francois DuBois "Blood"

Out Now on Urbantorque Recordings

It's been a few years since Lars Sandberg treated us to some output from his Francois DuBois alias, but it's safe to say the wait was worth it now that four years since the single 'Dark Angel' on Blue Recordings, he returns with the incredible 'Blood', his debut release for the London based Urbantorque label.

Lars' 'Original Mix' is quite simply majestic, it's floating synth layers and hazy groove subtly swaying to and forth, underpinned by a simplistic but extremely effective kick drum lead. As the track unfolds and the piano chords and vocal edge their way in, you cannot help but to be drawn in, as it's depth and quality becomes very much apparent.

How then, could such a seemingly perfect track be followed or reinterpreted, but one has to give Groove Armada's 'Andy Cato' kudos, as he takes the original canvas, extending it's ideas and throwing in a big acid style lead to create a killer remix that ventures just that little bit deeper into the darkness than the original, but leaves its own signature imprinted on the dancefloor each and every time.

'Blood' is one of those records that come along once in a while and catches you by surprise. When records this good come along, they remind you why you love house music. But don't take my word for it, track this down without hesitation and let the music tell you itself.
