G-Pal Feat Anna Maria X "Ocean Of Blue (Canadian Remixes)"

Out Now on Swift Records

G-Pal is without a doubt one of the most highly regarded producers in the progressive music scene, with many great productions and remixes to his credit, on labels from Bedrock and Yoshtioshi to others such as Sumsonic. 'Ocean Of Blue', featuring the evocative vocals of Anna Maria X was the first release on G-Pal's own label Swift Records, but was overlooked by many and never quite achieved as much success as some of his other work. However that has now been addressed as a diverse remix package has been put together, and this disc sees some of Canada's finest talent deliver their own interpretations of the track.

First up is Martin Villeneuve with his 'MV Argonaut Dub'. Working the track into a deeper and darker direction, Marty drops in some stunning percussive layers which float between the vocal sections, with some subtle underlying pads and synth action working tightly with the atmospherics of the mix. MV's melodic tribal template transplants perfectly to this track, with this moody remix just perfect for the dark section of an all night set.

'Tone Depth and Sultan' have proven to be very adept production team in recent months, and their remix of 'Ocean Of Blue' continues the trend for sexy late night house music that they have been pioneering as of late. Luscious chords and smooth grooves drift along at soft yet constant pace, with added acoustic guitar adding a poignant touch to an already emotion filled mix, with the guitar led outro backed by Anna Maria's vocals proving to be a killer moment in an out standing mix.

Canada has some of the finest talent in the world right now, and this Canadian Remixes edition of G-Pal's 'Ocean Of Blue' is proof of that. A record that you will enjoy endlessly, no matter where you hear it.
