Out Now on Yo Recordings

Yo, which is the big room imprint sister label to Yoshitoshi and Shinichi, takes another huge step forward with the release of G-Pal Presents Ghos “No Other Man.” Gpal follows his past successes with the Yoshitoshi camp (“Future Music EP” on Yoshitoshi, “Beneath the Surface EP” on Shinichi) with “No Other Man”, and with it has secured a release on all three of their labels. Included on this single is a slamming remix by the Greek, otherwise known as Tone Depth. It’s not to be missed.

“No Other Man” is the fourth release on Yo, a subdivision of Yoshitoshi which is their outlet to feature huge “big room” dancefloor tunes. While G-Pal does deliver that here, he strays a bit from the first three releases by infusing in a bit of the Yoshitoshi sound. In fact, it’s downright groovy with guitar laden rhythms and hypnotic spoken vocals. Breathy atmosphere floats behind the production and builds to help launch the climactic peak. This track has been hammerd by the likes of Anthony Pappa and Satoshi Tomiie and is sure to be a favorite of Sasha & Diggers.

Tony Papadopoulos (aka The Greek, aka Tone Depth) was born in Montreal Canada to a Greek mother. His career launched in early 2000 with the help from Paul Oakenfold who included tracks on two of his most successful compilations, “Another World” and “Travelling.” After using four of the Greek’s productions on their latest Global Underground comp, Deep Dish brought him back for a remix of “No Other Man.” It’s a brilliant rendering of G-Pal’s original and has more of a tranced out hypnotic flavor to it. The breakdown is a brilliant guitar solo taken from the original but used superbly within this cut. It will be a tough choice between the two mixes as they are both great. Keep an eye on this guy and his partner Sultan. They are both at the top of my list.
