Greed Feat Lesley "I See You (Remixes)"

Out Now on SOG Liquid

The second half of Greed's 'I See You' package is here, in the form of a remix package with two very big names in the progressive scene turning their hands to mixes. First up is the superb production outfit Minilogue who rework the track in their own unique style, whilst one half of Nalin and Kane, Andry Nalin delivers a rare solo remix to wrap up the 12".

Soft oriental-esque chords ease us into the 'Minilogue Mix', where the familar sounding bassline that has become a trademark of Minilogue's soon takes over, sitting underneath layers of lush chords and the beautiful vocals provided by Lesley, building subtly towards a mini break and into a vocal solo. From underneath the tight beats slip back in once more, for the dramatic finale, where Lesley's vocals are delivered with more raw energy then ever before. A mix that stays faithful to the original yet drags it kicking and screaming right into the middle of a crowd to cause untold damage.

The 'Andry Nalin' remix also has the big rooms squarely in mind, a big acidic bassline concealing a riff that sounds suspiciously like it was lifted from one of Underworld's classic tracks. Building more and more, Lesley's vocal does not seem to fit perfectly over the top, and whilst the production and structure of the mix is big indeed, it just doesnt seem to gel very well, and is nowhere near as good as the Minilogue remix.

Both mixes will test the speakers of the dancefloor to the max, but the Nalin mix has that familar riff which just confuses the listener, leaving this 12" in the hands of Minilogue to save, and an admirable job they do indeed.
