Kasey Taylor & Chris Meehan "Between The Lines"

'Between The Lines' is the second single to come from Kasey Taylor's partnership with the up and coming Chris Meehan. A few months ago they brought us 'South Of The Border', the first of several tracks the duo have now completed. 'Between The Lines' picks up where the former left off, with that big progressive sound that could only come from the Vapour imprint.

The 'Original Mix' is a cool percussion based track, building around some deep loop arrangements and head first into dreamy melodic pads and a slinky bassline that lifts the mood of the whole piece, with driving elements and warm techy sounds rising up and over the top. Watch as the melody enters from behind the other elements of the track and brings a whole new twist to it's floating soundscape, and you will understand just exactly where it's name comes from. and just perfect for those late night sets.

Over on the flip, 'Greed' really surprises with a summery breakbeat interpretation that is a far departure from his usual funky style. A big atmospheric backdrop sets the mood for this light, spacious remix, with the melodies of the original just placed over the top in a simple but effective way, with understated bass and beats keeping the tempo at a nice, mellow constant, at the same time remaining faithful to it's a-side counterpart.

Watch out for a further single on Vapour towards the end of the summer, with a release on Portugal's Feed Me Records also lined up for the near future. In the meantime however, take a look between the lines and see what this duo have to offer here.
