Kasey Taylor & Chris Meehan "Parallell Reflection"

Out Now on Feed Me Records

Feed Me Records fourth release comes from two talented people from the land down under. Australia's Kasey Taylor & Chris Meehan already have several singles on Vapour and remixes of artists such as Greed and Bluefish under their belt, and here they lay down a slick and twinkly progressive tune, full of heavy bass and delightful sounds, with the 'Katai' remix slowing down the pace and focusing more on the bass.

The 'Original Mix' features a cute twinkly synth layered on top of a driving beat and great funky bassline. Techy drums build adding toms, high hats, and random percussive hits. A groove sets in as the bassline brings on the funk underneath. A light chord progressive falls down on top of the beats, moving the song along until a cute synth steps in and takes the tune over. At the break, the synths build together traveling through relaxed key changes and then delays off once the beats pop back in.

Kasey Taylor takes 'Parallel Reflection' deeper but chunkier, with more focus on the bass than the synths under his Katai guise. Muffled beats start in while other percussive elements and quirky bits fall on top of the kick. The bass rolls on by with a thicker heavier edge moving the song along, and into some subdued synths that have been cut up and shortened. As the beats drop off for only a second, the bassline captures the tune once again with a heady groove.

Kasey Taylor and Chris Meehan are a great combination in the studio. Their lovely cute and quirky synths meet perfectly with the heavy plodding bassline for this good release.
