Mashtronic "Supernova"

Out Now on Sexonwax Recordings

It was back in the summer of 2004 that Mashtronic made their debut with their self titled EP on German label Chicaria Records. This was subsequently followed up with a second EP on which 'Supernova' originally featured, catching the attention of one Desyn Masiello who included it as a mystery track in his much vaunted Essential Mix. In many ways a turning point for the trio of Matthew Bradley, Cid Inc and Tom Level, that would see their career escalate at an alarming rate throughout 2005, 'Supernova' was again brought to the world's attention with it's inclusion on Luke Fair's 'Original Series' compilation. As we enter 2006, Mashtronic look destined to become breakout stars of the year, and 'Supernova' gets a full release as a single in it's own right to start the year off on the right note.

Mashtronic's 'Original Mix' is straight up, pounding, no nonsense electric house. It's one of those tracks that instantly lifts the mood on the dancefloor and takes the set to a new level. 'Supernova' does this with remarkable ease. the killer bassline and swirling lead underpinned by techy beats and big melodic keys which when all placed together, create a simplistically constructed but dynamite track that will make the club explode time after time.

Taking things down a slightly different route, 'Demi' and the '16 Bit Lolitas' collaborate on a remix that goes for a more stripped down approach. Some low end bass sets a deep mood, whilst the lead hook is twisted and manipulated, being teased throughout the intro of the mix but not taking charge until the silent break sweeps in. From that point on, the mix comes to life, steadily building to a massive climax, with the end result being a mix that works perfectly during those long late night sets.

'Supernova' still holds it's own as one of Mashtronic's best tracks to date, and is one of those records that will always hold it's place in a record box. Kicking off a year that will see them launch their own label Mashtronic Records and remix tracks for labels such as Bedrock, the word Supernova is what will most likely be used to describe their career come the year's end.
