Micah "Acandavi"

Out Now on Secret Planet

After making an appearance on the Secret Planet compilation, Canadian producer Micah Lukasewich delivers his first full single for the label. Previously having had releases on Chris Fortier's Fade imprint, and even further back when he debuted on UG Records, Micah's talent has been largely overlooked, but with 'Digital Hymn' being one of the standout tracks on the Secret Planet album and this latest single, all that is set to change.

The 'Original Mix' of 'Acandavi' is a powerful track that uses house grooves and percussive arrangements in an innovative way, fusing them with layered breakbeats and emotive pads to create a unique hybrid of sound that translates well on the dancefloor. Coupled with some linear melodies and keys that float over the top, watch this one slowly come to life and set the floor on fire.

'Chris Micali' is on hand with the remix, an effective melodic house interpretation that holds it's own quite capably. It's big chunky rhythms and and use of the main melody lead things forward from the start, before a smooth rising bassline takes things to a whole new level as Micali turns in a decent rework that provides a contrast to the more rugged and gritty original.

Another well rounded release on this new offshoot label of Silver Planet, and a vast improvement over some of Micah's earlier work as 'Acandavi' is his best yet, with only more to come as he develops in the coming months.
