Opus Ink "Darkroomboot"

Out Now on SAW Recordings

If you were to take a look in the record box of pretty much any top tier DJ over the last 12 months and the likelihood is that you would have found at least one record somehow related to Audiofly. That's not to say that Anthony Middleton and Luca Saporito are prolific. Actually, it's more the fact that for the last few months every track and remix this twosome outputs, each has been superb and well received across the board. Their own projects have been complimented by a series of collaborations, and now their latest venture sees them team up with the legendary Satoshi Tomiie for the first single as Opus Ink entitled 'Darkroomboot'.

The 'Original Mix' fuses dark, techy elements with lush melodies, as linear percussion and deep, layered synth patterns come together to form a stunning and subliminal piece of abstract music. As one might expect from the parties involved, the production quality and arrangement here is really something else, and is quite simply a brilliant debut for the Opus Ink project.

Matching the original is a lofty task, but in the capable hands of Moodmusic supremo 'Sasse', 'Darkroomboot' takes on another lease of life, as he stripes the original back to its core and reworks the elements around a deep, dubbed out bass lead. Underpinned by piercing stabs and woven melodies, Sasse provides a late night masterpiece which compliments the original perfectly.

'Darkroomboot' is an outstanding release from Opus Ink, and bearing in mind this is the tip of the iceberg so to speak for this new collaboration, one can only imagine what the coming months and further output from this project holds.
