Precision "Nightmare"

Out Now on Zero Tolerance

Zero Tolerance has been a development centre for some seriously evil shit over the past few years, with some of Australia's young talent having been nutured, their warped mentalities tapped. It has been a development hive for the likes of Luke Chable and Jono Fernandez, with 'old timers' such as Phil K, Ivan Gough and Gab Oliver lending their knowledge to the nu breed of producers coming out of the woodwork down under. One of these such youngsters would be Kristo Beyrouthy, who has already put out a solo offering as Kaybee. With guidance from Gab Oliver, they have created a sound quite different to anything previous on ZT. A sound that signifies a new direction for 2003 and beyond. As Precision, they now showcase their work to the world, and the 'Nightmare' is only just beginning.

The dark beats of the 'Original Mix' waste no time in letting you know that this is another product from the Zero Tolerance studios. Kicking in with some deep echoing percussion and moody spacial ambience the 4/4 groove, the pace soon shifts to a more upbeat and tougher stance. Imagine a runaway train leaving the rails and you wouldn't be far wrong. This continues as the groove gets more hypnotic, with the beats developing a trippy edge to keep you interested right until the finish.

Keeping things constant on the b-side, the boys rework the original into a 'Breaks Mix', which initially slows things down, tight compacted beats easing you in. As the eerie sounds swirl and move within the groove, things start to take shape and an assault of rapid fire breaks and loops are used to push things forward, twisting and turning, leading into a sinister spoken vocal reprise, before rough beats lead us to outro in a suprising end to a dark yet emotive mix.

With remixes for Nascent and Bedrock Breaks, and further Precision singles scheduled for later in the year, the newest collaborative outfit on Zero Tolerance's are out to prove that they are taking no prisoners. Watch out!
