Redanka "Waves (King Unique Remixes)"

Out Now on RIP Records

Redanka's 'Waves' first appeared at the tail end of last summer, and become one of the tracks that sound tracked last season in the White Isle, thanks largely to Sasha who featured it on his Radio One hot mix from Cafe Mambo. It subsequently went on to become one of the biggest releases on RIP Records, it's appeal stretching far beyond the usual suspects, and just in time for this summer, it's back on the circuit thanks to these new remixes from men of the moment King Unique.

Maintaining the euphoric crescendo of the original, the two Matts' start things off on a nice, steady tempo, but soon the dirty synths and drums that we know and love them simmer through the surface, and stamping their own mark on the track further, have included a cool filtered vocal which holds attention long enough for the main stings of the original to make their presence felt.

The 'Instrumental Version' is the one that most have been favouring, cut from a similar template to it's vocal counterpart, but taking a no nonsense route that focuses on the killer groove and big room elements. It quite literally goes off, roof and all, but with such a great original to work with, King Unique could have gone the simple route and done very little, but here create a blinding big room mix that will send the floor into a frenzy.

Much like many of the other tracks they've lent the re-rub to in the last few months, King Unique continue to forge an imprint on club land once again, and these remixes of 'Waves' rank amongst their best work to date.
