Rouzbeh Delavari "Soup"

Out Now on Maris Music

Never being pinned to a specific style, Rouzbeh Delavari boasts an impressive back catalogue of strong releases, and Soup is another gem to add to that collection. Being the first release for the Maris Music imprint, it sets the standard very well of the quality we can expect in future releases.

The Original has a blissful intro, which slowly builds upon itself before exploding, in a similar way to Maris Music exploding onto the scene! A heavy beat is backed up by a smooth bassline, which serves as a carrier for the high ranged melody. Without ever wanting to become boring, Delavari begins ripping elements of the track up and warping them in many different directions, adding a very interesting twist to the sound. A sure fire peak time monster.

Ozgur Can provides the remix on the flipside. He strips the track back a lot, and provides a softer, more laid back interpretation. But don't let this fool you, the track is still a monster in its own right. A more driving bassline propels us forward, and our high range melody is left in tact. Ozgur's trademark percussion makes its appearance, and complimented by some nice effects, this creates a tight remix, and whilst slightly lacking the energy of the Original, will be favoured by many for its more traditional approach.

A very solid debut for Maris Music, and with more to come from the likes of Lonestar, Skooma, and Underground Movement, this is a label with one hot future lined up! The original mix being a definite stand out, this proves that Rouzbeh Delavari is at the top of his game, and we can hopefully expect more fantastic releases from him in the future.
