Santos "70s Sensation"

Out Now on MOB Records

Santos is probably best known for his track 'Camels' which was a big hit in the UK, but the fact of the matter is that it's his more breakbeat influenced material that shows off his skills to the max. All you have to do is check some of his releases on Mantra Records to know this, but fear not if you've missed those, because the MOB have enlisted his services, and '70s Sensation' is the second offering from the Mafia's latest acquisition, following on from 'No Ticket To Run'. Just how well are his marksman skills here though?

The a-side contains the remix from one of the breaks scene's leading men 'Dylan Rhymes', who adds his own unique edge to '70s Sensation' by adding some delayed synth action to the bouncing b-line that he crafts. Acid effects and the original's sinister vocal hook add to this twisted mother of a remix, and you can just see the floor bouncing each time this beast gets unleashed..

Drop the 'Original Mix' in next, and you will see just exactly how much Dylan had redefined it, but this original is in itself worthy of a listen with some heavy drum action and rippling snare effects coming together in one full on track. Whilst guaranteed to do the business however, with the added bells making this easy to pick out in a set, it's not that different to many other tracks on the market.

Final track on the single is a remix of another of Santos's tracks entitled 'U Make Me Rock', with Maffia Sound System's 'Da Luq' ripping things up with a no nonsense, heads down approach to the track which just screams 'play me' with its deep snarling bass, looped vocals and pounding drums. Pure filth!

More Santos action to come, with backup provided by Tayo himself and those Australian boys NuBreed. The mob is growing, reading to forge a dominance on the breaks scene. You have been warned..
