Satoshi Tomiie Presents Ice "Scandal In NY"

Out Now on SAW Recordings

Are you listening to me? Pay attention and listen closely, this is “Scandal in New York.” Sometimes felling a bit old school Obital, Satoshi delivers originality on his signature throbbing rhythm mechanisms. It is likely to make it into the sets of Deep Dish, Digweed and Sander Kleinenberg. SAW Recordings follows a string of excellent releases and from what I can see from their release schedule, that string will continue for some time.

Satoshi strikes a fine balance between original use of sounds and pure, full on club drive. This track is packed with grand sounds and effects and when they together are put into effect, the track screams to jumping crowds on the floor. The beat and bass line combine powerful audible forces to deliver a forceful punch. Together with the swanky vocal commentary of Uta Dare, they drive this track to anthem levels. It is full of driving punch with enough peaks and valleys to continually reenergize the dancers. Satoshi uses samples in brilliant percussion patterns that cause involuntary dancing spasms when layered over his renowned thick beats. The repeat value of “Scandal in New York” may have more power to its punch as the listener warms up to Uta Dare. For those who just prefer less of her SAW Records offers a flip-side of dub.

The SawDubbedScandal gives carries more of the same great instruments, but less of the commentary by Uta Dare. Don’t expect it to be fully devoid of Uta however, because she does make a few appearances. This is a great sneak attack track as it leads in with a trance inducing groove while very slowly turning on the scandal machine around it. It just sucks you in. The seriousness of this track is stunning and I truly dig it.
