Out Now on SAW RecordingsWhat do Medway, Cass, Sean Cusick, Blue Haze, Echomen, Meat Katie etc. etc. have in common? Well, aside from having releases on SAW Recordings, the have all made the first round of the Undulation series. This version one of Undulation is compiled and mixed by Satoshi Tomiie and Hector Romero. The duo has chosen some of the best cuts from the SAW catalogue and mixed them in top form.
Rather than go through a track by track run down which you can easily get from the tracklist, I will instead try to convince you of the pure quality that Undulation offers. It was best said by Hector, “It's a wave of music that bounces from one track to the other.”
As I mentioned above, all of the tracks on this mix set are from SAW Recordings. Better yet, each of the tracks was hand picked by the label bosses. That should be enough of a sell in itself. Satoshi said of the difficulties of choosing just 80 minutes of tracks from the extensive catalogue, “It's like picking your own favorite babies.. Not easy I love them all..”
The sequence and mixing of the tracks is superb, but with Satoshi & Hector behind the decks, I was expecting as much. After all, they are the geniuses behind Saw Recordings so there familiarity with the catalogue is obviously unmatched.
Their selection ranges from SAW002 up through tracks which are yet to release, so if you are new to SAW Recordings, here is a perfect introduction. If you are already a fan of the sounds of SAW, have no fear. Hearing the classic SAW mixed with the yet to be classic SAW is an experience in itself. Satoshi & Hector give it to you and they give it to you good.
Keep your eye on this series in the future from SAW Recordings.
