Shiloh "Dream On"

Out Now on Electrofly Records

It seems such a long time ago that 'Will U Ever Come Around' was first heard, but in actual fact it's merely a year since the brothers Moreh, Colin & Justin made their debut as Shiloh and at the same time launching Electrofly Records. Now months later, the label has become one of the most popular amongst progressive and breaks heads alike, with Shiloh themselves having racked up an impressive discography of singles and remixes, having put their hand to reworks of such artists as Human Movement, Madoka and Benz & MD. 'Dream On' is their fourth single for Electrofly, lifted from their forthcoming artist album and no doubt familiar to those who've ever been and visited their groundbreaking Shilomedia web site. With their first anniversary in the scene fast approaching, they needed a big release to mark the occasion, and they don't get much bigger than this.

The 'Original Mix' is a huge progressive breaks opus that has Shiloh's driving style stamped all over it. Hard hitting beats and deep bass create an amazing soundscape that oozes atmosphere and depth, with lots of cool electronic elements bubbling right at the heart of the groove. Drifting melodies conceal a devastating vocal hook provided by none other than Colin Moreh, with a bass guitar refrain lending itself to the pumping energy of the track and adding the final touch to what is yet another explosive release from these two brothers.

'Klaus Hill' provides a more traditional take on things over on the flip. Dark tribal influenced beats and and a large expanding bassline provide the foundations for Klaus to really go to town, getting down and dirty during the opening minutes, before stripping things back to reveal the main vocal, and later an hypnotic melody line that carries the beats to the end, whilst making the track more accessible.

With the album in progressive, a number of collaborations in the pipeline, and their own Internet radio show 'Electrofly' on Proton Radio, it amazes me where Shiloh find the time to do all of these things, but as long as they continue to do they will hear no complaints from me because 'Dream On' is without a doubt their most accomplished work yet.
