Soul Tan & Tone Depth Feat Heroic "Back To You"
Out Now on Tao Recordings“And I come running back to you. Even if I don’t know where I’m going”
No, it is not a typo. Despite the change in spelling, this is the same pair (Sultan & Tone Depth) that has been dropping massive tunes on Yoshitoshi, Bedrock, Chug & Alola. If you have been following my reviews of these guys, you already know that this twosome of producers, whether together or producing separately (Tone Depth sometimes as The Greek) are at the top of my list. “Back To You,” the second single on Martin Villeneuve’s Canadan based Tao Recordings reinforces their standings.
On the original, Sultan & Tone Depth storm at you with an inspiring tribal cut with sorrowful vocals by Heroic. It is a beautiful track with great sample manipulations of Heroic that form the centerpiece of the track. The melodies are vibrant and moody. It is an obvious epic dance floor piece but it translates very well into headphones where it will place you in a very solemn, introspective place.
To match the power of the original but deliver it in a different package, MV brings us the “Back 2 Breakz Mix.” A tight arrangement of tempered break beats is laid down under the rich melodic elements of the original. MV demonstrates exceptional ability in controlling the force of this track and has built a powerful breakdown that will undoubtedly grab the attention of the entire dance floor. It is a gorgeous, sullen breaks track that deserves everybody’s attention.
Tao Recordings have yet to disappoint with two fantastic releases already garnering great success. This release, “Back To You” pulled a seventh place on the infamous Balance chart. Their next release from Mark Martini feat Hollow Promise and is titled “Highway One.”
