Stereomovers "Soul Sweeper"

Out Now on Tao Recordings

The Stereomovers Alexandre Dionne and Simon Roy hail from beautiful Montreal, Canada and debut on MV's Tao Recordings with a lovely slice of progressive house. 'Soul Sweeper' is a deep tribal vocal track with a pulsing groove and great production. Label boss, MV provides a remix of epic proportions with its happy uplifting vibe, and cool plucked guitar.

The 'Original Vox Mix' leads in with a solid kick, tribal toms, and high hats that fall straight into a warm bouncy bassline, the groove staring while vocals sweep across the percussion and build into a full on vocal tune about a "devil in disguise". Layers of analog sweeps and pad stabs create a soft movement in the background, while the percussion dips in and out of breaks. 'Soul Sweeper' changes up half way through the song, as a lengthy break slowly builds around the vocals and a pulsing bassline and grooves all the way out.

MV's 'Back In The Day Mix' is a warmer happier version compared to the original. The house beat kicks in with nice claps and air sounds that wash over the percussion. Layers of swirling synths create a feel good vibe behind the effected vocals. A plucked classical guitar is added and steps in to play off the melodies and vocals, while a warm groove sets in. Moving through quick halts and changes and finally dropping into a breakdown, the synths and vocals build together into an epic dreamy peak, and then fall back into the drums and to the end.

Tao Recordings has gone strength to strength with their four releases so far. The Stereomovers have a very accessible sound that could help take them outside of the dance world and into the mainstream, and time will tell whether they achieve this.
