Subway Baby "Tribes Of Khan Gala"

You may remember Subway Baby’s “Gotta Stop” which was featured on “Hooj presents: Further.” Subway Baby returned with “Tribes of Khan Gala” which set to release on SAW and this is it. This is the record that has been Satoshi’s secret weapon for the past couple of months. After originally hearing the mix from Sweden’s Q records, SAW recognized its strength and has picked it up to release as their 20th release. To refine the sound of the original, SAW recruited Gogo and Homerun to lay their hands on it.

Starting with Switzerland’s Q Clic resident DJ Gogo remix, one’s ears are treated to deep chugging tribal grooves. It is prefaced by a deep “Tonight we are united by the power of rhythm” statement over a solid punchy kick drum before the rhythm kicks in. And kick in it does. The drums and percussion elements Gogo uses are wicked and only give pause for a brief ambient infused moment. This is a top notch cut and as he says in the song, it “will make the earth rumble.”

The Homerun remix pulls more ambiences into the mix. This remix is also layered with the spoken sample, which incidentally is included as an acapella. Homerun chooses to slice it up a bit more in the meat of the track but lays it full out in an all but silent intermission before blasting the speakers full on with thick beats.

What can I say about Saw Recordings that I haven’t already before? They continue to live up to their legend.
