Tantamanna "Bad Dreams"

Out Now on Baroque Records

Tantamanna are Italian trio Giannini Max, Tudisco Luca and Cardinale Andrea, and 'Bad Dreams' is their debut release on Baroque. Mixing elements of house originated in their home country with a US style vocal, the trio seem to have come up with something rather fresh and unique indeed.

The Original kicks in slowly, keyboard melodies drifting above the groove as it rolls forward. A funky guitar-esque riff loops over and over as the 'bad bad dreams' vocal navigates it's way through the the busy soundscape of the track. A series of drops and smooth atmospheric effects keep the track from becoming repetative, with the big drop during the break only serving to add more intensity to this upbeat house cut.

The 'Dub Mix' builds it up in a more laid back way, the atmospheric effects pulling together all the sections, whilst more drops are used to keep the tempo and build varied, making this slightly more subtle, but just as useable as the main mix, although in all essence, there isnt' much to differentiate the two.

30 releases on and Baroque seem to diversifying their sound whilst showcasing more and more new talent, and with a forthcoming label mix cd on the horizon, it looks like plans to take the label to the next level are well and truely in progress.
