Out Now on Hallucination Limited

Leatherhead native Terry Francis has been snatched up by Hallucination Records housier offshoot Hallucination Limited to release a two track EP, titled “The Freedom EP”. Apparently his Cha-Cha lessons at the age of eight paid off well despite getting booted off the course for not paying attention. Today, Terry Francis is a tech-house heavy-weight and has left his mark in the world. Remixing and releasing over two dozen twelves and showcasing his mixing skills on the second volume of Fabric’s esteemed mix series (other DJs to have mixed the series include Craig Richards, Grooverider and Hipp-e & Halo).

If you are looking for Detroit flavored tech-house, then look no further than “Free.” With ass spankin’ percussion and a moody synth jab delivering the depth, Terry manages to push this track to the limits with minimal effort. You will hear soft spoken male dialogue and luscious, soulful female singing in an almost tag-team fashion. The track rides on its percussive legs without the support of a bass line but Terry still manages to deliver one hell of a punch. Mazi, Lee Burridge and Denver's Casa Del Soul Records are calling "Free" one of his all-time best.

"Rosie and Hannah House" on the flipside offers up a deep house taste for your buds. The percussion on this side of the twelve still beats to his signature sounds, but Terry throws in a hot bass line, a pinch of melody and loads of fresh effects for a perfect blend of house goodness. Things stay on the soft dubby tip, but it sure is a moody piece.

Overall, this EP provided fresh sounds to my ears and I am happy to score this well. Hallucination Limited is a week away from launching and we here at Progressive-Sounds expect great things from them. So should you.
