Ty Tek "The System"

Out Now on Dirty Blue Records

Colorado based producer 'Ty Tek' returns with his third single for Dirty Blue, following on from such cuts as 'Midnight Express' and 'Ultrasonic'. Pushing the envelope just that little bit further, 'The System' is probably his biggest to date, and here's why..

The one thing you notice as the 'Original Mix' of 'The System' starts is it's jackin sub bass groove which remains constant throughout. Throw in pounding beat patterns that conceal a ethnic sounding horn sample that floats across the beat with seamless ease. As key changes add an extra dimension to the sounds, the track bounces along until warm chords fill in the gaps nicely as the bassline twists and grinds to a sublime finish. Ingenious techy goodness from the man Ty Tek.

The 'Tracky Mix' on the flipside opts for a slightly more disjointed approach, with a rough groove and druggy sounds changing the pace of the track, allowing the warm bass and big hooks of the percussion to shine through, with the result being a deep yet rocking rework that will do some serious damage on the dancefloor as the main melody oozes in. Try it and see for yourself.

Forthcoming is brand new material from Ictus, following on from the superb 'The Look' on Dirty Blue's sister label Minimal Records. Watch out for it soon.
