"Silver Planet: 50th Anniversary Release (Part One)"

Out Now on Silver Planet Recordings

Since it's dawn in 1996, the Silver Planet has been responsible for shaping the early careers of artists such as Yunus Guvenen, Timo Maas, Gwill Morris and of course James Holden. Over the course of the past seven years, the label has been supported by all the top level DJs and artists, with the label's remixography including mixes from Way Out West, Rabbit In The Moon, Blue Amazon and many more. Now home to rising star Chris Salt, in addition to long standing names such as Chimera, the label has redeveloped itself, and it just so happens the 50th release coincides with this first part of two featuring new mixes of two of the label's most popular releases.

Chris Salt's 'Dub Sonar' may be a recent release for the label, but it's quickly become one of it's most popular in some time. Here 'Luke Chable' gets to grips with the track, taking the melodic keys of the original and dropping them deep in the centre of a huge rolling groove. Subtle bass leads slowly into the main section, but it's not long before the energy level shifts, as Chable uses the main riff to devastating effect, his masterful handling of big room dynamics and sounds shining through in a major way, completing the latest in his line of dancefloor bombs.

Main Element's 'Delta Of Venus' is perhaps only overshadowed by James Holden's 'Horizons' as the label's most popular release, and ahead of a re-release later in the year, this 50th release features a remix by 'Chris Salt'. Throbbing beats and deep electronic rhythms feature prominently in this breakbeat rework. the main parts of the original simmering away nicely right at the heart of things as this young producer carefully unleashes layer upon layer of driving beats over the top. climaxing with growling fury whilst remaining faithful to the timeless original.

Both mixes are terrific, and have already started receiving support from DJs such as Anthony Pappa and Nick Warren with more likely to jump on board over the coming weeks. With the second part of this landmark release to follow, featuring remixes by Grayarea and Aidan Lavelle, be sure to obtain a copy, not only for your record box, but to own a part of a legacy that is only just starting..
