Valentino "Flying (Remixes)"

Out Now on Shinichi Recordings

The original mixes of Valentino’s “Flying” were released last October on Yoshitoshi and Mike Schreiber wrote of it “If you’re looking for a track to bring on dreams of the tropical breezes and ocean sunsets on those cold autumn nights…then look no further as “Flying” will have you off to Ibiza in no time.” Well, “Flying” is back on Shinichi with an excellent set of remixes.

Sitting on a bed of hard pounding beats, the Pablo LaRosa’s Remix is full of breadth and is thick with tantalizing aural atmospheres. Pablo’s remix has a deep, warm bass line that drives the rhythm into a smooth dubby pace. The extensive use of melodies and harmonies are not held back from their full glory in this remix and will be very appealing to fans of the original.

Sultan & the Greek, who have been in the good graces of the Yoshi camp as of late, make an excellent pick to remix this single. They have proven above and beyond that they know how to handle a good melody and they confirm it with this remix. “Flying” was indeed left in good hands with them. Taking a very subtle approach with the harmonies, and strong arming the rhythm, “Flying” floats into being. Stabbing piano chords swell, and before you know it, the melody is upon you, heavy and abounding. This duo has perfected the art of building anticipation and yearning. The result of what they have done here is a great peak time track that will be memorable for days to come.

The Wally Lopez Remix is spacey and spanked with funk. He throws down dark stomping beats and implements a myriad of creatively tweaked samples. In a sea of rough and untamed percussion, Wally unexpectedly delivers an epic symphonic introduction to the melody. It is a crazy ass breakdown blazing with a full on shot of melody. This is certainly the most original take on the infamous “Flying.”
