Van Bellen & Greed "City Lights (Remixes)"

Out Now on SOG Liquid

To commemorate Van Bellen & Greed's latest studio collaboration 'City Lights', some additional remixes have been commissioned to ensure the track reaches as many different types of dj as possible. We've already had the pure progressive mixes, and now is the turn of Chab and fast rising dutch star Matthew Dekay to add their own takes on the track.

'Chab' fans will not be disappointed as his mix has that big chunky sound which is very much his trademark, but the difference maker here are some funky guitar riffs that he weaves into the percussion, with some heavy beats and melody loops creating a big room mix which will have hands in the air as the beats drop out and the guitar gradually moves back in. Big, bold and ballsy, this mix does the business.

'Matthew Dekay' takes things down a deeper, more tripped out path, with a solid chugging groove pulsing away at the heart mix of the mix. Great melodies fade in and out of the groove as Lesley's vocals rise slowly over the top, fitting perfectly into the mood MDK crafts, before launching into a melodic second half which in a way loses the momentum built up to that point. A shame really as this could have been a brilliant mix if it was not for that fact, but it's not that bad overall, if only slightly disjointed

As an addition to the original 12", this set of mixes ensure it's place in a dj box, but a slightly off form Matthew Dekay lets the side down. However if you have the cash to spare, you could do far worse than to snap up a copy of these mixes, so the choice is down to you.
