Absolut & Blade "Dropzone"

Out Now on SOG Liquid

Andre Absolut and Eric Blade are based in Switzerland where they have aided in production for tracks from Greed, Darko and Gainer as well as Minilogue. Recently their track 'Pain' was released on Sumsonic and now they follow up with this track for SOG entitled 'Dropzone' so lets see how it compares.

The 'Original Mix' builds itself around a house groove, some cut up drum loops dropping into the mix to heat things up a bit building until some quirky fx bubble back and forth across the track, dropping into a sublime spacial respite before kicking back in with some hi hats holding together driving pads and pulls out all the stops till we reach the outro

Twist the disc for the 'Loader Mix' and we get something different. Starting with a rattling drum percussive groove, you think you're about to be treated to 5 minutes plus of sleep inducing tribal grooevs, but just when you are about ready to give up, the deep bass builds and twists, then builds and twists and then.. well you get the picture. Intricate stabs pierce the soundscape in the latter section of the track and add funky edged groove to this mix.

Whilst not the most innovative piece of wax on the shelves, you can do far worse than to secure this as a track to keep in the box some build up mayhem. Check it out if only for the Loader Mix.
