Dan Goodall "Summit"

Out Now on Fracas Recordings

Dan Goodall's debut release came earlier in 2002 with the AA side release 'Trippid / Tough Monkey' on Niche. This track was supported by Sasha and James Zabiela. This follow up 'Summit' builds on the foundations set by that release to further show that Dan is a producer with a lot to offer as another forthcoming track entitled 'Subcinct' will further prove.

Summit drops us straight in from the top with some rough claps dropping over a reverbarating acid bassline. As things flutter torward, a quirky vox sample wraps itself around the electro groove and tight break pads that drift into one building momentmum before a synth wave washes across the break and into more twisted breaks action once more. Accciddd.

The remix is handed to Lee Spicknell and Chris Sylvester, collectively known as Nottingham UK based outfit 'Sound Alliance'. A heartbeat starts things off soon building into into a deep bass fuelled monster complete with delayed synth action, pulsating riffs, dropping into the main break before continuing to outro with some tight arrangements and rattling effects filling out the track nicely. A taster of what to expect from the duo's forthcoming debut single 'From Home'

Dan Goodall has recently started a monthy residency on Proton Radio with his show 'Monkey Magic' showcasing some of his production works as well as his DJ skills, whilst at the same time letting him introduce you to show of his friends. Be sure to check it out.
