Danny Howells & Dick Trevor "Kinkyfunk"

Out Now on Yoshitoshi Recordings

Progressing out of the deep dark tribal groove in which the scene has been spinning, “Kinkyfunk” skips to the next generation with a smile generating, housed up tune that spans genres.

The Main Mix wastes no time getting a funky groove on and is invigoratingly smooth with its bouncy rhythms and catchy vocal snippets. Vocal samples jab out the occasional “funky” but this is not necessary as the groove itself tells how extremely funk infused this track is. The build is short and sweet dropping the dancefloor right back to what they do best, getting it on with the ‘Kinkyfunk’

The Slow Mix is enclosed by more ambience and is lighter on the funk than the main mix. As my personal favorite, this mix has a subtle approach with just the right amount of shiney funk

Danny Howells & Dick Trevor, producing outside of their Science Dept. alias, deliver ‘Kinkyfunk’ which is already out on Yoshitoshi. It can also be heard on Danny Howells’ Nocturnal Frequencies 3 mix cd.
