Digital Mind Control "Mindstate / Beta Proxima 7"
Out Now on Zero ToleranceThis is one corker of a record. Both sides are amazing. Each side stands on it's own, and both can be used in a set. This is Digital Mind Control’s second release for Zero Tolerance, and what an outstanding job they've done.
Mindstate has shown up on Dave Seaman's Global Underground, and is terrorizing dancefloors everywhere. This song is hard, and beautiful, with techno beats, and pulsing rhythms. It never ceases to let up, and you feel full on power. The kick is hard, and the high hats take you through the song. The first drop is like taking a quick breath. In comes the open pad synth, and there it goes charged again by the drums. The quirky sounds that keep the atmosphere really make this song. It's what's not there, that makes this song so amazing. With a breakdown like this, anyone's going to think this song is cool. It opens, breathes, relaxes, and right as the vocal sample comes in, the song explodes back into the drums.
On the flip we have Beta Proxima 7. This is a darker tune, with huge bass and thunderous beats, which hint a sci-fi feel. Constantly changing and morphing into different phases, it never gets uplifting. The moody bass, and stabs create a scary place that cleverly works with the eerie high synth. The beats are hard and encompassing, and the claps are extremely reverberant. As the break comes the song changes into something very dramatic. Almost sounding like a soundtrack, the delays and washes and falling sounds, create a very wet atmosphere. It comes back in full force, and even seems harder than before. This song never let's up, and sort of gives you an uneasy feeling after it's over.
Zero Tolerance won't let up and this is just another example of the devastating sound from the underground. Watch out for these guys.
