Finger Fest Inc "Auto Porno (Remixes)"
Out Now on Yoshitoshi RecordingsAuto Porno should not be an unfamiliar track to you as it has been taking over dancefloors since it first landed as a Choo Choo release at the beginning of this year. With Mara’s Barry Gilbey joining D.Ramirez to form the talent behind the Finger Fest Inc. moniker, it is no surprise that it is still a strong track nearly seven months later. It’s also no surprise that the always joking Choo Choo crew named themselves and the track the way they did. Yoshitoshi were quick to recognize the strong impact and devastating effect this track was doing on the floors and are re-releasing it with two exclusive monkey-spanking remixes by Chab and solo Gilbey.
In the Original Mix, Deep pulsating beats and a shady bass line chug on with trance inducing momentum while messed up ‘Auto Porno’ samples (vocals by Gene Carbonell) stretch across 4/4 measures. As the tensions build in the song the vocal becomes clear (incase you didn’t know what he was saying) and in your face to drive the song to a massive pace. Its as if its continually climbing until you cant take it anymore. Then they give you a break. Believe me, thinking ahead, you will need it.
D.Remirez strips out the Gilbey influence and makes a stand with his interpretation. My first thought upon hearing this cut was of Jondi and Spesh because, like their productions, this track delivers a deep minimal sensation while still hitting hard. The build makes use of warped sample manipulations and drives the beat back in accompanied by a sick electro drum pad effect. The track retreats in it’s minimal fashion.
Yoshitoshi gives Barry Gilbey the chance to do a solo remix like his porn partner D.Remirez. The resulting Choo Choo’s DC Mix is a like a huge powerful steam train barreling along on old rickety tracks in the dead of night. Dangerous and frightful describe it. Smoke and steam lash out around its body leaving the path behind in a thick haze. The siren can be heard miles away before the track screams past and eventually rolls into a groove. Gilbey tunnels you through a deep dark passage full of the famous vocal samples. Don’t let this track fool you on the dancefloor when it cuts out to nothing. Pitch black and silent for 8 whole seconds. Bass infused blurbs and warbled siren signal it’s inevitable return. Enjoy the ride.
With each NU Breed series on Global Underground being mixed with a Chab production, there is little reason to doubt why he has been selected to be the final cut on this double remix pack. He jumps into this porno track with a more sublime approach by laying off the groove a bit. The Chab remix creates inconspicuous sensations that go along way in early night mixes. Take your pick from the first three mixes for peak time destroyer, but don’t pass on this one for building the mood on the floor.
The original release saw HUGE support across the board. Deep Dish also gave it a nod by including it in their Global Underground mix cd. It was on the Balance Promote Charts in the first spot and these new mixes are destined to rekindle the fire. Available on Yoshitoshi now.
