Groovemates "Space Ride / Right Here Right Now"

Plastic Fantastic have been very supportive of the Israeli music scene, having signed Moshic and Zidan to a multi single deal and now they have picked up another duo from the Middle East, Groovemates. The duo are newcomers Doron Elimelech who is a dj from Jerusalem and Sharon Avilhak who can be found dropping some wicked tech house sets at the Move Club in Tel Aviv. Having put their collective experience into one basket, the duo bring us their first two tracks, Space Ride and Right Here Right Now.

Space Ride is a deep piano laden journey that pays homage to the days of Italian piano house, before a dark growling vocal interrupts the flow, as the beat pulsates in the background you find yourself getting drawn into the groove almost hypnotically before the piano line kicks right back in. A very different track with a rather unique arrangement.

However the real gem here is Right Here Right Now, a tough progressive groove twisting its way into a deep atmospheric bassline, offset with subtle spacey effects that bleep and echo in and out of the beats smoothly. A real mood builder that will work well in a warm up set.

Plastic Fantastic seem to be travelling the world trying to find new music, and they continue their support of the Middle East with this latest signing. Check it out if only for the b-side.
