JSJ "Ghost Of You"

Out Now on Renaissance Recordings

JSJ are west coast boys Jondi and Spesh who team up with hard working US circuit DJ and producer Jerry Bonham for this project. Already they enjoyed major accolades with the track Deep Love 9, and now return with the follow up Ghost Of You, which has already been receiving plays from many DJs and will no doubt find its way into the boxes of many more.

Spread over two vinyls, there are the original mixes along a double helping of mixes from Spincycle, who had a superb remix towards the end of last year on the track Southern Comforter - Another Late Thursday.

First up is the Original Mix, a dark percussion line, and filthy bass, interwoven with some ethereal synth action that twists and turns its way along, subtle house grooves giving way to the synth line as its dominance is felt leading into the break and a layered riff breakdown takes things through the roof. Slickly produced, devastatingly deadly, and one of those records that should always be kept in your box. On the flip, the 'Ether Dub' provides a moody alternative that would work well as the opener to a set or for more of those building moments.

However, Spincycle really excel themselves on the remixes, a haunting melodic synth line weaving its way through pounding house grooves, giving the track a real feeling of depth, and over on the Dirty Dub, a sly vocal sample is dropped into the cut up beats to really add some fun to proceedings, and giving scope for much cross mixing with the other mixes on offer here.

Renaissance deliver possibly their best release since Human Movement's Love Has Come Again here.. the question is whether they can now capitalise on this.
