Kaybee "Undisclosed Evidence / Infringement"
Out Now on Zero ToleranceKristo Beyrouthy is the latest person to join the ranks of Zero Tolerance. At a young 21 years of age, he's already cut his teeth in production with some cheeky remixes of Blaze's My Beat and Destiny's Child's Jumpin Jumpin which found release on the UK-based DMC remix service. He has since gone on to team up with the excellent Gab Oliver and their tracks as Precision will be available early next year for you to snap up. In the meantime, he's delivered two debut cuts for your listening pleasure, so be sure to check out 'Undisclosed Evidence' and 'Infringement' if you want to see what the fuss is about. For now I'll tell you my own thought though.
Undisclosed Evidence begins with some spooky spaced out effects that soon bring in a deep tribal-edged percussive groove which flows underneath, warm techy effects raining down over the sub bass, only adding to the emotive sounds being crafted here, before the track descends into some choppy snare loops lead it off into the 'undisclosed unknown' befroe returning to it's point of origin once more. A more laid back track compared to much of ZT's output, but once that holds a certain charm for sure.
Infrigement is on a more foreboding tip, deep broken beats and stutter percussion coming together with a minimal groove to create a 4/4 track that evolves into a twisted breaks affair without the dark and filthy sounds that many tracks of this style tend to use. Already it has gained support from many top breakheads including Meat Katie, and is perhaps an indiciation of why this boy is already held in such high regard.
With his DJ bookings on the rise, including Melbourne's 'Sunny' event held on a montly basis, in addition to his forthcoming work with Gab, the future is looking very bright for this youngster indeed.
