Minilogue "Deep Motions"

Out Now on SOG Liquid

Minilogue, aka Swedish producers Sebastian Mullaert and Marcus Henriksson have been producing for many years under the name of Son Kite. From these previous productions they have gained an awareness outside of Sweden, with Parks and Wilson already featuring tracks of theirs on a recent Essential Mix. Due to this awareness in a far wider market, they have had to come up with a new identity, so now they come to you with the 11th release on the excellent SOG imprint as Minilogue, with Deep Motions.

The Original mix starts off with some cinematic synth sweeps that lead into a rough tribal beat that drops into a funky drum bassline, as dirty synths rattle over the bass, echoing and giving the track a very deep, cavernous feel, which drops into trippy synth fest that sounds like an alien form crying for help, continuing on once more before the sweeps from the intro make their entrance once more to lead us into a sinister tough synth line break that reveberates and pulsates like a throbbing heart beat, before the spooky cinematics wind and weave their way forwards towards the end.

Over on the flip SOG head honcho Tobi Wirz delivers a remix on a more funky house fuelled tip under his Greed alias, quirky synths running through a deep brooding bassline that rolls along subtly, building a gradual momentum before entering a deep luscious break that awakens your senses as the track twists and turns in a very funky manner as it draws to a close

With such past releases such as the many from Greed and remixes from people such as Darko and Gainer, SOG has quickly earnt itself a repuation as being a quality european imprint. Watch out for the forthcoming Strange World re-release with the eagerly anticipated Lemon 8 mix.
