Nash-T "Orca"

Out Now on EQ Grey

EQ have already caused a bit of a stir in the progressive scene, being a new label hailing from Victoria, Australia. Their first release, North Atlantic - Lights Out has been played many times on John Digweed's KissFM show, thanks to a superb remix by the dutch producer Harry Lemon8.

Now they deliver the follow up release, Orca by Nash-T (who may be more well known by the name Bluephaze). The Original mix is a deep percussive number that adds some haunting tribal effects and chants over the breakbeat style percussion, twisting and turning, as the bassline grooves along.

Meanwhile, the remix is handed to Innate. Innate, who already has releases on Baroque and Platipus, adds some melody to proceedings, layering some drums inbetween the percussion and filling it out with some lush pads that takes the track to the next level, giving it that peaktime feel.

Yet another superb release from this promising label and with further releases from Andy Moor and Sphere Vs Accorsi and remixes from the likes of Moshic the future looks very bright indeed.
